NORFOX exceeds donations target to change thousands of chldren’s lives in the North West
With the support of the Property and Construction industry, NORFOX the charity known for its Legendary Xmas Lunch and other fundraising events, is celebrating its 20th year of changing children’s lives
With the help of its supporters, NORFOX has donated to over 88 small regional charities since it began in 2003. At its 20th Birthday and Xmas Lunch at The Castlefield Rooms in Manchester (7.12.23) it announced that it had not only hit its £350,000 target but exceeded it at £357,540 - thanks to the £14,000 donated to eight children’s charities this year – the largest amount donated since 2017. The event itself raised £11,568.00 to go forward to 2024 charity donations.
The charity is run by eight Trustees who are well known in property and construction circles. They all give their time and resources for free. Collectively this year they will have completed over one hundred years of service to NORFOX.
According to its Chair Stewart Grant, NORFOX has easily touched at least,100,000 children’s lives in the North West. “It’s impossible to calculate and it may be a lot more. We don’t count – we just care. But through one child our funding can impact on a family and a community.
“We try hard to spread our funds across the region and rarely donate twice so we help as many deserving small charities as we possibly can as often they are outside of the mainstream funding net.
“This year we have donated to small charities in Moss Side, Hebden Bridge, Bury, Tameside, Macclesfield, Salford, Stockport, Cheadle and High Peak. And without the generosity of our supporters in Property and Construction and our past Trustees, our achievement just would not have been possible.”
